  • Milan Elementary School will hold its annual Meet The Teacher Night on Monday, August 3, 2015. This will also be the time for paying book bills, depositing money in your child’s lunch account and/or applying for book/lunch assistance. For your convenience we will have booths set up in the gym beginning at 5:00 p.m. where you can take care of these back-to-school chores. There will also be a variety of informational booths including our special area staff and our PTO.

A new and very important part of the evening will be the introduction to the Chromebook/iPad your child will be using in the 2015-16 school year. You’ll learn all about it and how your child will use it during your “Meet the Teacher” session which will begin in the cafeteria at these times:

    ● Grade 1 at 5:45 p.m. ● Grade 2 at 6:10 p.m. ● Grade 3 at 6:30 p.m.

    ● Grade 4 at 6:50 p.m. ● Grade 5 at 7:10 p.m.

We hope you and your child will take advantage of this opportunity to visit school, find your child’s new classroom and meet the teacher. Grade level sessions should last approximately 30 minutes after which you are welcome to tour the building. This is a great opportunity to get your child’s school year off to a good start by establishing the line of communication between home and school.

School begins for students in grades 1-5 on Tuesday, August 4 with a regular, full day of school. Kindergarten students will have an orientation meeting on Monday, August 3 and begin their first full day on Wednesday, August 5. Watch for a letter to come home this summer with information concerning your child’s classroom assignment and book and lunch fees. For your back-to-school shopping convenience, here is next year’s SUPPLY LIST.
  • Welcome to Milan Elementary School. We are happy to have you as part of the Milan family. Our mission is to help every child learn and grow to reach his/her fullest potential. Just like we say in our student pledge every morning, “I came to school to learn, and I will learn.”

We have high expectations for Milan Elementary students. Our students are well-behaved, study hard, and treat others and our property with respect. We actively seek family support as we work together teaching lifelong learning skills to our future leaders.

We welcome your participation and support. Working together, we will be able to reach our goals.
  • School Fees have been established for the 2015-2016 school year and should be paid before school starts if at all possible. The ideal time to pay book fees and deposit money into your child's lunch account would be during "Meet The Teacher" Night on Monday, August 3. For your convenience we will have booths set up in the gym beginning at 5:00 p.m. where you can take care of these back-to-school chores. Application forms for lunch and book fee assistance will also be available at this time. Kindergarten fees may be paid during orientation earlier that day at 1:00 p.m.

    2015-2016 fees are as follows:
    • Kindergarten - $96.25
    • Grade 1 - $179.50
    • Grade 2 - $166.75
    • Grade 3 - $ 150.50
    • Grade 4 - $ 143.00
    • Grade 5 - $ 143.00

All fees include the rental of an electronic device (Chromebook or iPad) for your child's use during the school year.  Please make checks payable to Milan Elementary School. Although school fees and lunch deposits must be made separately, you are encouraged to combine school fees for all children into one check and lunch deposits for the family into another check.
